IPC’s mStore system a key part of Addenbrooke’s e-hospital launch

Wednesday 29 October 2014 12:48

IPC has successfully completed major system development that forms part of the ambitious Addenbrooke’s e-hospital project, that launched the weekend of 25th October. The project will see many paper based processes transferred to screen, and IPC’s mStore Electronic Document Management software forms a key backbone part of the way patient information can be viewed in the new e-hospital system.

Epic and HP form the main collaborative partners in the scheme, and mStore, which has been a part of Addenbrooke's  Medical Record information systems for the last 17 years, has been integrated with a number of key upgrades, into the new e-hospital project.

Graham Light (IPC Director) commented. ‘This has been a major project for us, which has seen development of the latest mStore software to meet the needs of the project. We are delighted to have played a significant role in delivering the backbone EDM processes, so staff can access current and past patient information more quickly, and securely.’

Dr Afzal Chaudhry, consultant and chief information officer for e-Hospital, commented that the new system would help people like himself in their day-to-day jobs.

“A number of patients who are dialysis and transplant may have three or four volumes of case notes,” he said. “Historically clinicians’ clerks were bringing notes on trolleys. They will now move to an iPad or an iPhone.
